Parent & Player Expectations at Tryouts
Our tryouts are designed to provide a positive, organized, and fair environment for all players. To help make that possible, we ask the following:
Players are expected to:
- Arrive 15 minutes early to get checked-in
- Be ready to play at your best
- Wear proper soccer gear and bring water
- Listen, work hard, and stay focused
- Show respect to coaches, teammates, and staff
- Compete with intensity while demonstrating sportsmanship
- Be coachable and open to instruction
- Maintain positive body language and encourage others
Parents are expected to:
- Ensure players arrive prepared and 15 minutes early
- Support from outside the gate, without coaching, so players can concentrate on their game
- Allow club staff to run the tryout environment
- Show respect to all players, families, coaches, and officials
- Understand that selections are based on multiple factors, not just one moment or one performance
- Help their child approach the process with confidence, perspective, and maturity
Please remember:
Tryouts are about more than talent alone. We are also evaluating attitude, effort, coachability, teamwork, and overall fit within the team environment.
